The moodiness of the black storm clouds against the teal sky evokes powerful emotions in this painting. The colorful landscape below the storm clouds has excitement in the bright colors and expressionist marks. I haven’t done a lot of expressionist painting but I felt a freedom during the creation of this one that made me long for more. There’s a wildness in this scene, but I can’t decide if it’s fear or excitement. Like most things in art, I think it’s all about perspective.
